Frequently Asked Questions

Q-What if you come out and can't fix my problem?
A-It's rare but it does happen. If I get there and determine the cause of the problem, for instance, a piece of bad hardware, you will still charged for the hour. After all, I still came out there and did the troubleshooting to find your problem. At that point I will recommend your best solution. If it's not a hardware problem but a software problem i.e. virus or spyware that I'm unable to fix it then no, you will not be charged.

Q-What kind of warranty can I expect on your services?
A-A 2 week warranty is provided for all service work. This is because once I leave your house we can't watch what you're doing or where you're going. 99 percent of the time people will go back to doing the same thing that got them in trouble the first time. Sorry, its just a fact.

Q-Can I get a quote over the phone?
A-Sure, I'd be happy to, just answer a few questions so I can provide the best possible quote for you.

Q-I just have a simple question, can I just call you and ask at no charge?
A-You bet. We've all been there. I would rather you called and asked before doing something you might regret later. Plus, I believe if you help people when you can, they will come back when they need real help in the future. All of my customers can attest to that.

Q-How do we charge?
A-Charges are by the hour with a 1 hour minimum. If the job is completed in 30 minutes, it's still the one hour charge. After the first hour though, it breaks down to 15 minute increments.

Q-What's your gimmick?
A-Sorry, no gimmicks, I don't drive a funny little car or dress up like a doctor or clown, I just provide professional, honest service in the hope that you'll come back for years to come.

What is a Static IP address and what is a Dynamic IP address?

You may have heard people talk about Static and Dynamic IP addresses but what are they, really? An IP address is a unique number assigned to your computer either by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or your router.  It’s like a phone number for your PC and it floats around the internet along with a billion other computers IP addresses that are currently on-line.  Most home users, and business users for that matter use a Dynamic IP address. This is an address that changes either daily or weekly depending on your ISP and their usually cheaper to have. Static IP’s remain static and never change, this is good for businesses that have users at remote locations that need access to a server. If it wasn’t for a static IP address the number would change constantly and no one would be able to gain access remotely.

Do I really need Anti-Virus and Spyware protection?

In a nut shell... YES! If you not running these programs and your connected to the internet it's just a matter of time before your system turns into a giant paperweight. The best programs are completely free so you have no excuse not to install one. The links are right here. Look on the bright side...if you don't get them, I'll be seeing you soon.
